Tasmania ROI Points Calculator (190 and 491 Priority Attributes)

Tick the priority attributes you meet to estimate your Registration of Interest (ROI) score for Tasmanian nomination. The attribute points come from Migration Tasmania's published tables for the Tasmanian Skilled Employment (TSE), Skilled Graduate (TSG), Established Resident (TER) and Business Operator (TBO) pathways, checked 20 October 2026.

Only claim an attribute you meet in full before you lodge your ROI. Migration Tasmania checks every claim, and a nomination is declined if a claimed attribute can't be verified and the score falls below the threshold. Generally only one current job can be used to claim priority attributes. This is a general estimate from Migration Tasmania's published attribute tables (checked 20 October 2026), not migration advice. Check your SkillSelect points too: the visa itself still needs the points-test pass mark.

How Tasmania ranks ROIs

  • Gold pass holders are invited first, then Green. Candidates with at least one Orange Plus attribute are the first Orange candidates invited; other Orange candidates are ranked by points.
  • Gold, Green and Orange Plus attributes need employment at the priority income level: at least $57,000 a year or a base rate of $28.85 an hour, excluding overtime, penalty rates and casual loading.
  • You must meet every part of an attribute before you lodge your ROI. Claimed attributes are checked when you apply, and a nomination is declined if an attribute isn't verified and your score falls below the threshold. Gold pass holders who don't meet the Gold attribute are declined regardless of points.
  • The Business Operator (TBO) pathway has no Gold or Green attributes.

Minimum requirements, in brief

The attributes only rank eligible candidates. Each pathway also has minimum requirements, for example:

  • 190 TSG: completed a CRICOS-registered course of at least 92 weeks with a Tasmanian institution (AQF 5 Diploma or higher, or at least Certificate III for an OSCA Major Group 3 or 4 occupation), studied full-time on-site, and lived in Tasmania for at least two calendar years from the start of the course.
  • 491 TSG: the same, but with a course of at least 40 weeks and at least one calendar year living in Tasmania from the start of the course.
  • 190 TER: lived in Tasmania for at least the last three years (no more than half of your Australian residence elsewhere), plus qualifying Tasmanian work, remote work or a Tasmanian business.
  • 491 TER: lived in Tasmania for at least the last two years, plus qualifying work in Tasmania. Remote work only counts for the 190 TER pathway.
  • 491 TBO: operated a business in Tasmania for at least 12 months, still in profit after paying yourself at least $67,509 (85% of the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold).

FAQ

Tasmania ROI questions

What score do I need for Tasmania 190 nomination?
In the 15 October 2026 round, the lowest score invited for subclass 190 was 319, and all 45 invitations went to Gold (12) or Green (33) candidates. Migration Tasmania's rolling three-month average of the lowest score that led to a nomination was 427. In practice that means a Green attribute (300 or 500 points) or Gold for subclass 190 at the moment.
What score do I need for Tasmania 491 nomination?
In the 15 October 2026 round, the lowest score invited for subclass 491 was 88, with 32 invitations (1 Gold). The rolling three-month average of the lowest score that led to a nomination was 81. Both figures change from round to round.
What are Gold, Green, Orange Plus and Orange passes?
Migration Tasmania ranks Registrations of Interest by priority attributes. Gold and Green pass holders are invited first. Candidates with at least one Orange Plus attribute are treated as high priority and are the first Orange candidates invited. Other Orange candidates are ranked by their total points.
Is the Tasmanian ROI score the same as my SkillSelect points?
No. The ROI score only ranks you for Tasmanian nomination. Your visa application still uses the SkillSelect points test, including the pass mark, and you can check that score with our PR points calculator.
Can I combine jobs to claim attributes?
Generally only one current job can be used to claim a priority attribute. Migration Tasmania allows two exceptions: several concurrent jobs can be combined to meet a minimum-hours threshold, and several sequential jobs can be combined to meet an experience threshold. In both cases every job counted must meet the attribute on its own.
When does Migration Tasmania invite ROIs?
Thursday is normally the ROI invitation day. Migration Tasmania's next ROI invitations are scheduled for Friday 23 October 2026 (moved from Thursday because of Hobart Show Day).
